Silver State 50/50 : May 16, 2026
The Silver State 50/50 is a set of trail endurance runs held at Rancho San Rafael Park in northwest Reno. The 2026 event marks the 41st running of the 50-mile and 50-kilometer endurance runs and the 18th running of the trail half-marathon.
Distances:
- 50 miles
- 50 kilometers
- Trail half-marathon (13.1 miles)
The courses run entirely on dirt trails and dirt roads and include extensive climbing and descending. Elevation ranges approximately from 4,700 feet to 8,266 feet. The 50K features about 6,100 feet of ascent and descent; the 50M features about 9,500 feet of ascent and descent. The 50K uses blue course markings, the 50M uses pink markings, and the half-marathon uses orange ribbon and red arrows.
Aid stations are provided along each course; seven for the 50K and nine for the 50M. Stations supply water, ice, electrolytes, carbonated water and sodas, and a variety of food items. The event is cupless; drop bags are used for specified aid stations. Poles are permitted. Courses include a notable 7.1-mile loop on the 50-mile course known as Jimmy’s Loop and several signed splits to keep entrants on the correct route.
Runners must check in before their race and must check out at aid stations. Cutoff policies and aid-station procedures are enforced for safety. The event acknowledges that it is held on the lands of the Western Shoshone, Northern Paiute and Washoe Tribes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
