The event offers two formats:

  • 5k Race
  • Virtual 5k race

Location and Course

The race takes place at the Huffaker Hills Trailhead in Reno, Nevada. The course is entirely on trails in the Rattlesnake Mountain and Huffaker hills area. The route includes one ascent and descent followed by two loops at the bottom of the trailhead.

Registration and Details

Registration for the 5k race costs $40 and includes a long sleeve performance shirt. Registration for the virtual 5k costs $35. The event is open to youth and adult athletes aged 5 and up.

It is a recognized and sanctioned race by USA Track & Field. Official timing will be provided, and results will be posted online after the race. EMT services will be on site, provided by REMSA.

Parking and Shuttle

Parking at the Huffaker Hills Trailhead is limited. Once full, participants will be directed to park at the Longley Town Center parking lot, where a shuttle service will be available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A 15-passenger van will depart every 15 minutes or when full.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available at the Huffaker Hills Trailhead on the Friday before the race from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on race day from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

Fundraiser

The event is a fundraiser for the Azteca FC youth Cross Country and track program, supporting athletes who qualify for the Junior Olympics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Dog friendly 5K and 1 mile events at Tahoe Vista and Incline Village with an expo and non competitive activities. Separate starts are available for human only participants and dogs receive bandanas and treats.
