Hidden Valley Hammer
The Hidden Valley Hammer takes place on November 7, 2026 at 4740 Parkway Drive in Reno, NV. The event offers two distances and uses trail routes through the park.
- 10K - steep, technical trail; climbs roughly 1700 ft
- 5K - less technical loop with single track and views
The 10K course is steep, slippery, rocky, and exposed. It climbs about 1700 feet in the first 4.5 miles, reaches a high-point with a view, then descends back to the start/finish. There will be sections where participants will hike rather than run. Trekking poles are not discouraged and carrying drinking water is recommended. One aid station near the top will provide only water and encouragement.
The 5K follows a less technical loop around the park and uses single-track trails with scenic views. Organizers suggest the 5K for those unsure about the technical demands of the 10K.
Proceeds from the event are donated to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. An after-party is planned with food, drinks, and live music at The 395 Craft Beer and Spirits.
