The Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs take place in Carson City, Nevada, on single-track trails and dirt roads in the Carson Range, Spooner backcountry, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, and Toiyabe National Forest. The 100-mile course includes approximately 20,000 feet of elevation gain. Live GPS tracking is provided for the 100 mile, 100K, and 50K races. The route offers views of Lake Tahoe and deep Great Basin valleys. The final 17 miles of the course are described as very demanding and the course notes state a minimum of 2 liters of fluids is required for that section.
Races, entry and rules
- 100 mile - approximately 20,000 feet elevation gain
- 100K - single-track and dirt roads
- 50K - single-track and dirt roads
- 23K - out-and-back to the final aid station
The 100-mile and 100K are Western States qualifying races. All 100-mile entrants must meet one qualifying standard verified by official results between July 1, 2023 and the time of registration: 50 miles in under 15 hours (or the TRTER 56-Miler under 18 hours), 100 km in under 22 hours, or completion of an official 100-mile trail race. 100-mile entrants must also complete 8 hours of actual trail work between July 1, 2025 and July 1, 2026. Published entry fees are: 100 Mile $325 plus fees, 100K $210 plus fees, 50K $155 plus fees. The 23K does not have GPS tracking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
