July the Turd is a running event organised by How Hard Can It Be Events on 4 July 2026. It takes place around the valley of Ironbridge in Shropshire with the start and finish at The Unicorn Inn in Little Dawley TF4 3HZ.

Distances offered:

  • Marathon - three laps for the full marathon.
  • 16 Miles - two laps, described as a half (ish) marathon.
  • 8 Miles - a shorter option on a different course.

The route uses a mixture of tracks, paths and road. Road running shoes are sufficient for the course. Parking is available on site. The event notes that this is not the Railway Line course.

Entry fees are listed between £28 and £40 depending on distance. Age limits apply: the marathon and 16 mile entries are open to those aged 18 and over on the event date, while the 8 mile event is open to those aged 16 and over. All finishers receive event bling. Trail races across Cannock Chase offer 20, 15, 10 and 5 mile options on undulating forest paths, with route maps, on-site parking and event inclusions such as a bespoke medal and free photographs.

A tough 18 km fell race with 1300 m ascent around Carding Mill Valley, run to FRA rules. Competitors must carry full kit, record checkpoints with an SI dibber and meet strict cut-offs; event proceeds support local charities.

A multi distance running event along the River Severn between Ironbridge and Bridgnorth on 21 February 2026. Distances range from 9 miles to 37 miles with 9.4 mile laps and aid stations every 4.7 miles.

A 9.5km off road race at Kinver Edge and The Rock Houses on 22 February 2026, run as two laps around local trails. Limited to 100 runners, entry fee £18; medals for all and prizes for the top three in each gender.
