Event details

The Hidden Valley Hammer takes place on November 8, 2025, in Reno, NV, at 4740 Parkway Drive. Race distances offered are:

  • 10K
  • 5K

Registration closes on Sunday, November 2. The event benefits the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

Course and logistics

The 10K is a steep, technical trail that is slippery, rocky, and exposed. It climbs roughly 1,700 ft in the first 4.5 miles, reaches a high point with views, then descends back to the start/finish. Parts of the route require hiking rather than running. Trekking poles are not discouraged and carrying drinking water is recommended. One aid station is located near the top and will provide water.

The 5K follows a less technical loop around the park with single-track trail and views. After the event there is an after-party with food, drinks, and live music at The 395 Craft Beer and Spirits. 100% of proceeds go to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
