Grayson Highlands trail races
The event is a set of trail races held at Grayson Highlands State Park near Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, on May 2-3, 2026. Multiple distances follow mountain trails through the park and use course mapping that may differ from individual GPS readings.
Distances offered:
- 50 Mile - about 7,500 ft of climbing, 17 hour cutoff
- 50K - about 5,000 ft of climbing, 11 hour cutoff
- 25K - about 3,000 ft of gain, 7 hour cutoff
- 8 Mile - about 1,200 ft gain, 4 hour cutoff
Packet pickup is available the day before the races and a pre-race pickup is available on race morning. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female in each race. All finishers receive either a beanie or hat and a finishers medal; post-race food and professional race photos are provided.
The event supports the state park, a local rescue squad and the park friends group. Within 90 days of the event there are no refunds, bib transfers or deferments. Before 90 days, runners may receive half credit toward another Run Bum Race of equal or lesser value, valid for one year.
