Trail Running in Catalina State Park
The Everyone Runs Catalina State Park event takes place on the trails of Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona. The course begins and finishes at the park trail-head, utilizing a variety of established paths including the Nature Trail, Canyon Loop, and the Birding Trail. Participants encounter a "92 and 48 Stair Climb" as part of the route.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- Half Marathon Trail Race
- 5.3 Mile Trail Race
The 5.3 Mile event is open to runners and run-walkers. The Half Marathon is reserved for runners only and has a strict time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes. The longer distance includes an out-and-back section on the Bridal Trail followed by a second lap of the main course to complete the full distance.
Participants receive a choice of a short-sleeve tech or cotton shirt and free professional race photos. The event features chip timing with results intended to be posted by early afternoon. After crossing the finish line, a Mexican breakfast, coffee, and snacks are provided for participants.
Parking is available at the park, and participants are required to have a park entry pass. For safety, participants are advised to carry their own water, though basic water stations are positioned at specific points along the trails. Dogs are not permitted on the course for liability reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
