Thanksgiving XC Classic 5K & 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk : Reid Park, Nov 26, 2026
The event is held at Reid Park in Tucson, AZ (900 S Randolph Way). It features a European-style cross-country course with hay bales that runs on grass, dirt, and some asphalt. The 5K uses two loops of the course and the 1.5 mile fun run uses one loop. The course starts near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of the park, by 22nd Street and Country Club Road.
Strollers are permitted; the course is hilly and mostly on grass and dirt. Lanes are provided to bypass the hay bales. Dogs are not allowed for the safety of participants.
Packet pickup is available at The Running Shop in the days prior to the event and on race morning at Reid Park, Ramada #10. Packets include cotton tee shirts offered in women's, unisex, and youth sizes; shirts are distributed first-come, first-served. All fun run participants receive a shirt and a finisher's ribbon. The fun run is not officially timed.
Awards for the 5K include pairs of Brooks running shoes for overall female and masters female winners in the women's 5K and for overall male and masters male winners in the men's 5K. Age groups run from 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, then five-year divisions through age 84, and 85 and over. Team scoring totals the top four times from teams of up to seven members; team registration must be completed before the event. The race benefits Team Hoyt Arizona and Toys for Tots; new, unwrapped toys are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
