The Thanksgiving XC Classic takes place on November 26, 2026, at Reid Park, 900 S Randolph Way, Tucson, AZ. The event includes a cross-country style 5K and a 1.5 mile fun run/walk. The 5K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix.

Course and logistics

The course is a European-style cross-country route with hay bales, mostly on grass and dirt with some asphalt. The 5K consists of two loops and the 1.5 mile course is one loop. The start area is near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of Reid Park, at 22nd Street and Country Club Road. Strollers are permitted; lanes are provided to bypass the hay bales. Dogs are not allowed.

Packet pickup is available at The Running Shop on days prior to the race and on race morning at Reid Park, Ramada #10. Packets include cotton shirts offered in women's, unisex, and youth sizes; shirts are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All fun run participants receive a shirt and a finisher's ribbon. The fun run is not officially timed.

Awards, teams, and beneficiaries

Overall and masters winners in the men's and women's 5K receive a pair of Brooks running shoes from The Running Shop. Age-group awards are offered in youth and five-year divisions through age 84, and 85 and over. First, second, and third place age-group awards include a Thanksgiving-themed award, a pie, and a medal, respectively. Team scoring totals the top four times from teams of up to seven members; teams and team members must be registered before the event. The race benefits Team Hoyt Arizona and Toys for Tots, and new, unwrapped toys are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
