The Catalina State Park 50-Year Trail Race takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. The race includes two events: a 9.3 Mile Trail Race and a 5k Trail Run & Walk.
Race Course
The 9.3-mile course begins on the Nature Trail, connects to the Bridal Trail, and then follows the 50-Year Trail. Runners complete an out-and-back section of about 2.7 miles up this trail, turning around at a gate before returning. The event is only open to runners and run-walkers who can finish within a 3-hour time limit. The shorter 5k event is open to runners and walkers and uses the Nature Trail and Bridal Trail.
Registration Inclusions
Registration includes a homemade Mexican breakfast, free doughnuts, fruit, and nuts. Participants receive free professional race photos, a finisher shirt available in cotton or technical fabric with male and female sizing, and awards. Overall and 5-year age group medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Overall winners also receive free running shoes from Fleet Feet.
Logistics
Bib and parking pass pickup is scheduled in advance at Fleet Feet stores. The first pickup is September 18 from 10am to 6pm at the Tanque Verde location. The second is September 19 from 10am to 4pm at the Oracle Road location. Parking passes must be picked up by 4pm on September 19 at the Oracle location. The start and finish line is located in front of the main parking lot at the end of the park’s main road. The course includes some areas with potential traffic.
