Event Overview

The Vail Jingle Trail is a holiday-themed running event held at Mica Mountain High School in Tucson, Arizona. Now in its 21st year, the event is hosted by the Mica Mountain Cross Country Program in partnership with the Vail School District Transportation Department. The event serves as a community toy drive for Toys for Tots, and participants are requested to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help fill a school bus for local children.

Distances

Participants can choose from the following event options:

  • 3.1 Miles (5k) run or walk
  • 1k fun run for children

Course Details

The race takes place primarily on the Mica Mountain Cross Country course, featuring a start and finish on the school's track. The terrain is varied and includes asphalt sections, dirt, grass, and specific features known as "Thunder Hill" and "Rolling Thunder."

The path has undergone various improvements, including the addition of decomposed granite and pecan shells to the terrain. The route is clearly marked with chalk, cones, and railroad ties that denote the borders of the pathways. Members of the Cross Country team are stationed throughout the course to provide direction.

The 1k distance is an untimed fun run specifically for children. Parents are permitted to run alongside their children during this portion of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
