The Colossal Vail 50/50 is a trail running event presented by Fleet Feet Tucson near Vail, Arizona, with the start and finish at Colossal Cave Mountain Park. The event uses high desert sections of the Arizona Trail, running between the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Desert margins and reaching ridges near the Santa Rita Mountains. The event raises awareness and proceeds benefit the Arizona Trail Association.

Course, support and logistics
The 50-mile course is composed of two out-and-back segments; 50-mile entrants may stop after the 55K portion and receive finisher credit and awards for that distance. The routes include rolling trail terrain, open vistas, and sections of road and sandy canyon on some half-marathon options. There are five aid stations along the routes, four of which are used twice by runners. The event is CUPLESS; reusable or personal cups are used at aid stations. Skratch Labs is listed as the official hydration sponsor. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each event; every ultra finisher receives an engraved railroad spike and half-marathon finishers receive a wooden award. Camping is available near the start/finish and lodging is available in nearby Tucson and Vail area guest houses. No refunds are offered; partial transferable credit is available under stated cancellation conditions. Some years see Africanized bees on course and mitigation strategies are employed.
