Arizona Trail Race
The Arizona Trail Race takes place Sunday, February 7, 2027. The 20th annual event, presented by Aravaipa Running, is held at La Posta Quemada Ranch inside Colossal Cave Mountain Park in Vail, Arizona.
The course covers approximately 7.7 miles over moderate to rugged, single-track terrain with a total elevation gain of 771 feet. The route starts and finishes at La Posta Quemada Ranch. Trail-specific shoes are recommended because several sections are technical and there is noticeable elevation change.
There are four water stations on course located at about mile 2.5, mile 3.5, mile 5.5, and mile 6.5. The course will be marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots; junctions and turns will have yellow laminated signs. WRONG WAY flagging in a blue and white checkerboard pattern will mark non-race trails. All runners are responsible for understanding the course layout. Race bibs are provided and must be worn during the event.
The field is limited to 250 runners and transfers are not allowed. Participant amenities include long-sleeved technical shirts, finisher medals, overall and five-year age group awards, and a free post-race breakfast. Bib pickup is scheduled February 5 and February 6 at local locations. Entry fee tiers apply and registration closes on February 1, 2027 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time.
