The Eight Stations Ultra is a trail running event held on Sunday 12 July 2026. The route runs from Whitby to Pickering and is listed as 30 miles / 50K with 3322 ft of elevation. The course follows the Esk Valley Railway Line and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Line, passing eight railway stations and much of it runs alongside the railway. The route is partially self-navigational; a GPX file, route map and step-by-step description are provided. The event will be fully tracked in 2026.

Course, services and entry

The terrain is typical trail underfoot and includes mud, rocks and trees. There are four marshaled checkpoints with water and basic snacks at two checkpoints. First aid and event insurance are provided. Walkers are permitted if they can complete the course within the 13 hour cutoff; dogs are not allowed. Minimum age to enter is 20. Entry fees are listed as £67 (standard) or £65 (affiliate). A coach transfer from Pickering to Whitby is available for an additional £22. Finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt; trophies are awarded in overall and age categories.
