Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge
The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 17 April 2027 from a basecamp at Windsor Racecourse. It offers looped routes that run through Windsor Great Park, past views of the Castle, to Runnymede and along the Thames Path, then back through surrounding countryside. The 50 km route is formed by two different 25 km loops that create a figure of eight from the basecamp.
Support and services are provided throughout the event. The route is fully signed with hundreds of pink arrows and GPS tracking available through the event app. Marquee rest stops are provided approximately every 12.5 km with larger stops about every 25 km; catering includes snacks, drinks, a picnic at 25 km for 50 km participants and hot food at the 50 km finish. Medical cover, podiatrists and massage teams operate at rest stops, and a control room monitors progress using a timing system that scans at rest stops.
Options include walking, jogging or running categories, a Solo Challenger start option, an Ultra March category for walkers and an Ultra Trailblazerz category for ambitious runners. Event facilities at the racecourse include transfers, shuttle buses, parking, camping, a bar and a finish-line celebration with a medal, finisher T-shirt and a glass of fizz.
