Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge

The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge is a trail event based at Windsor Racecourse with looped routes that pass through Windsor Great Park, Runnymede and along the Thames Path. The route includes views of Windsor Castle and surrounding countryside and returns to the racecourse basecamp.

Distances offered:

  • 50 km - two different 25 km loops in a figure of 8, 320 m elevation
  • 25 km - single loop including the Great Park, 175 m elevation
  • 10 km - loop around Eton, Windsor and the Castle, about 25 m elevation

Rest stops are supplied approximately every 12.5 km with a picnic at 25 km for 50 km participants, and hot food at the 50 km finish. Marquee rest stops include medical and welfare tents, seating, catering, and changing areas. The route is fully signed and supported with GPS tracking via an event app.

Event support includes on-course medics, podiatrists and massage teams, shuttle buses and transfers, parking, camping and a bar at basecamp. Entry categories include an Ultra March option for walkers aiming for time targets and an Ultra Trailblazerz option for ambitious runners with target times. Trail races of Half Marathon, 10K and 5K run from Marlow Rugby Union Football Club on 28 June 2026, using marked off road routes through the Thames Valley countryside with marshals, chip timing and race photos.

A June 28th trail event at 3 Brewers Brewery in Hertfordshire offering 5 km and 10 km multi terrain laps, mostly off road, with a medal, pint cup and free drink for finishers plus live jazz and charity fundraising.

A Half Marathon at Box Hill Fort (Tadworth) on 28 June 2026 with more than 3000 feet of ascent and descent. The route runs mainly on rough tracks and offers views over the North Downs, the Mole Gap, Denbies Vineyard and Dorking.

A 5.3 miles off-road trail race around Ashridge Woods on 28 June 2026, organised by Aldbury Sports Club with National Trust permission. Water and finish refreshments are provided and entry fees differ for affiliated and non affiliated runne..
