Event overview

The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge takes place from Windsor Racecourse on Saturday 18 April 2026. The event offers looped routes through Windsor Great Park, past Runnymede and along the Thames Path, with views of Windsor Castle. Around 2000 participants leave the basecamp across the event. The 50 km format is two different 25 km loops that form a figure-of-eight route. The 10 km route loops around Eton, Windsor and the Castle.

Support and services

The route is fully signed and supported by an event App with GPS tracking. Rest stops are provided at roughly every 12.5 km, with major stops at about 25 km. Catering includes snacks and drinks at regular intervals, a picnic at 25 km for 50 km participants, and a hot finishers meal for 50 km. Medical cover includes doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists, massage teams, and mobile emergency medical teams monitored by a 24 hour Control Room. Timing scans record progress at rest stops.

Categories and options

The event includes a Solo Challenger start option, an Ultra March category for walkers with time targets, and a NEW Ultra Trailblazerz category for faster, competitive runners.
