Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge
The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 18 April 2026 from Windsor Racecourse basecamp. The event uses looped routes through Windsor Great Park, past views of the Castle, to Runnymede and along the Thames Path, and through surrounding countryside. The event is offered as walker, jogger, or runner options and was formerly known as "The Easter 50". Around 2,000 participants are expected to start from the racecourse basecamp.
Distances and route details
- 50 km - two different 25 km loops forming a figure-of-8, 320 m total elevation.
- 25 km - looped route including the Great Park, 175 m elevation.
- 10 km - loop around Eton, Windsor and the Castle, about 25 m elevation.
Rest stops for the 50 km course are listed at about 12.5 km (snacks and drinks), 25 km (picnic lunch), ~37.5 km (snacks and drinks) and 50 km (hot food). The 25 km and 10 km routes have rest stops at ~12.5 km or the start and a picnic at the finish point.
Support, categories and logistics
The event provides fully signed routes with GPS tracking via an event app, timing scans at rest stops, marquee-covered rest stops, catering for dietary needs, medical and massage teams, and mobile emergency medical cover monitored by a control room. There are options for Ultra March (walking target times), a Trailblazerz category for faster competitive runners, a Solo Challenger start option, shuttle buses to nearby stations, transfers and parking.
