Event overview

The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 18 April 2026 from a basecamp at Windsor Racecourse. The event offers looped routes that pass through Windsor Great Park, include views of Windsor Castle, go on to Runnymede and follow sections of the Thames Path. The organiser expects around 2,000 participants to set out from the basecamp across the available distances.

Distances

  • 50 km - figure-of-8 route made from two different 25 km loops; elevation 320 m.
  • 25 km - single loop including the Great Park; elevation 175 m.
  • 10 km - loop around Eton, Windsor and the Castle; elevation about 25 m.

Route support and categories

The route is fully signed and supported with GPS tracking available through the event app. Rest stops are provided roughly every 12.5 km with larger marquee-style stops about every 25 km. Catering, medical, podiatry and massage teams are located at rest stops; food and drink are included according to the distance. The event offers options for walkers, joggers and runners, plus a Solo Challenger start option, an Ultra March category for walkers, and a new Trailblazerz category for faster trail runners.

Entry and funding options

Self-fund and charity entry routes are available. Published self-funding fees are £139 for 50 km, £89 for 25 km, and £49 for 10 km. Charity entry includes several sponsorship and mixed funding structures with different registration fees and fundraising targets. Multi-event and young-person discounts are also outlined.
