About the race

The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped trail event based at Windsor Racecourse that uses routes through Windsor Great Park, along the Thames Path, past Runnymede and across surrounding countryside. The event offers full on-route support, covered rest stops and route signing with GPS tracking via a mobile app.

Distances available

  • 50 km figure of 8 route made from two different 25 km loops
  • 25 km single loop including the Great Park
  • 10 km loop around Eton, Windsor and the Castle

The 50 km course lists 320 m of elevation and has rest stops at approximately 12.5 km, 25 km (picnic lunch), 37.5 km and 50 km with a hot meal at the finish. The 25 km route shows 175 m of elevation with a rest stop at ~12.5 km and a picnic at 25 km. The 10 km route has about 25 m of elevation and basic refreshments at the start and finish picnic.

On-course services include marquee rest stops, catering with snacks and drinks, medical cover, podiatrists and massage teams, and a Control Room that monitors progress via the timing system. The route is fully signed with arrows and optional real time tracking for supporters. Event facilities list parking, shuttle transfers, camping, a bar and a finishers pack that includes a medal, T shirt and a post event meal option.
