Trail Running Calendar Illinois 2026-2027

A looped trail event at Lowell Park in Dixon, IL on March 27, 2027 offering 33.75, 22.5, and 13.5 mile timed races plus a team relay, alternating 2.25 mile loops with on course aid and finisher items for those who complete within limits.

A looped ultrarunning event at Deer Grove Forest Preserve west in Palatine, IL offering 50-mile, 50K, 25K and 5.5-mile races on mostly wide, nontechnical trails. The course uses 5.5-mile laps with one aid station at the start and finish.

Trail races at Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City, Illinois with 5K and 10K loop courses on maintenance trails and single track. Day park admission is included and the event features awards, post race snacks, and volunteer opportunities.

A flat out and back half marathon and 10K on the limestone Great Western Trail, organized by Fox River Trail Runners, with part of registration fees donated to three local mental health charities.

Trail marathon and 10 mile on the Sag Valley Trail at Cap Sauers Nature Preserve in Palos Hills, IL, with wide horsetrail, notable elevation gain, and staffed aid stations along the routes.

The Frontline OCR will take place in Byron on Saturday 22 May 2027. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.

A Backyard Ultra on June 5, 2027 in Charleston, IL, featuring repeated 4.167-mile loops on single-track and grass trails at Willenborg Woods; hourly laps continue until one runner remains and a Bronze Ticket is awarded.

The Mackinaw Valley Wine Run 5K will take place in Mackinaw on Sunday 13 June 2027. You can run 5 kilometers.
