Spring Stampede 5K and 10K
The Spring Stampede is a pair of trail races held at Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City, Illinois. The event is organized by the Illinois Valley Striders as an IVS Grand Prix race. Day admission to Wildlife Prairie Park is included with race participation.
Distances
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
Both courses form loops that depart from the main parking lot and run around the park using maintenance trails and some single track. Water stations are provided along the course routes. The 5K terrain is described as relatively easy. The 10K is more demanding, especially during the second half of the course.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners and to the top three in each age group for the following ranges: 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Post race snacks are provided. T shirt requests are subject to a cutoff on April 19 to guarantee availability.
Several volunteer roles are listed including packet pick up, course intersection monitor, and race photographer. Volunteers receive park access for the day, may join the post race celebration, and IVS Grand Prix members earn volunteer points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
