Detweiller at Dark

Detweiller at Dark

Detweiller at Dark is a summer cross-country event held at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Illinois on July 24, 2026. The event is organized by ShaZam Racing and presented by Under Armour, with additional sponsors including Sunbelt Rentals, Advanced Audio, and RC Outfitters.

The program includes an Open Race, junior high and high school races for girls and boys, a Co-Ed high school open division, and a Kids' Fun Run. Packet pickup is available only on race day. Registration closes Thursday, July 23 and there is no race day registration. Parking is charged at $10 per vehicle, cash only; school buses are free but 15-passenger vans are not included. Participants receive an official Detweiller at Dark shirt and a virtual packet. Graduating middle or high school students may choose to run in the level they just completed or move up one level.

Distances run at the event include:

• Approximately 1,200 meters - Kids' Fun Run
• 2.1 miles - Junior high girls and boys races
• 3.0 miles - Open Race and high school races
