The Ultimate SUCK

The Ultimate SUCK is a multi-day endurance and obstacle event held at Decker Farm in Cuba, Illinois. The event is designed to simulate a combination of agricultural labor, military training, and strongman exercises. Participants navigate a series of undisclosed tasks that may involve wood chopping, digging, carrying heavy objects such as hay or logs, and various physical drills.

Participants can choose from three distinct event durations:

  • 10 Miles (4 hour Gut Check)
  • 25 Miles (12 hour The SUCK)
  • 50 Miles (36 hour The Ultimate SUCK)

Specific gear requirements are mandatory for all participants. These items include a rucksack or backpack, hydration packs, life jackets, headlamps, and safety glasses. Participants in the 12 and 36-hour events must also carry a splitting axe. Every participant is required to bring homemade sandbags and two 5-gallon buckets with no modifications. For the 36-hour event, a military duffle bag to be filled with half of the participant's body weight is also required.

The event operates without aid stations; participants must provide all their own food, water, and electrolytes. For the 36-hour event, sleep is not permitted once the event starts. Crews and pacers are restricted; they are only allowed on the course for the final 12 hours of the 36-hour event and may only assist at the designated campsite in a hay field. Base camp consists of individual participant tents.

Following the conclusion of the event, there is a scheduled bonfire and breakfast for participants on the farm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
