Event overview
The F^3 Cap Sauers Trail event takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Teason’s Woods, 11200 S Willow Springs Rd, Palos Hills, IL. The event offers two measured race distances:
- 26.2 miles (Marathon)
- 10.0 miles (10 Mile)
Packet pickup is race-day only and each participant receives a pre-assigned bib. All finishers receive a wooden medal. Post-race food and drink, including chili and beer, are provided. Age-group and finisher awards are given.
Course and logistics
Both races use the Sag Valley Trail system, covering the Yellow, Green, Blue and Tan trails. The trail is described as a wide horse trail with little technical trail running required. Two-way traffic is common and horses are often present on the course. Elevation gain is significant by local standards: about 1,050 ft for the marathon and about 670 ft for the 10 Mile.
The marathon route consists of two circuits of the 10-mile course followed by a final 10k out-and-back to the west aid station. Aid stations are available at multiple turnaround points along the course (approximate mile marks include 2.9, 4.6, 7.8, 10, 12.9, 14.6, 17.8, 20, 23.1). Parking at Teason’s Woods is limited (about 50 spaces); carpooling and use of nearby lots are suggested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
