Fancy Nonsense - Palos Trail 25K/50K
Fancy Nonsense is a trail ultra taking place in October 2026. Due to construction at Palos Forest Preserve, the event will be held at Deer Grove Forest Preserve for one year.

The course is built around a roughly 5.5 mile loop through forested trail. The route uses a mix of single-track and double-track trails and is described as entirely runnable. Runners will pass the aid station after each loop and repeat the loop until they reach their race distance.
Aid stations and logistics are provided on course. The 25K uses two aid stations and the 50K uses five; stations are stocked with water, soda, snacks, doughnuts, and other typical ultra fare. Major intersections will be marked and each runner receives a fully marked course map at packet pickup. There will be a short pre-race briefing to review course markings.
Race policies noted in the event information include: crews may contact runners only at aid stations, and pacers are not allowed. The race awards cash prizes to top finishers in the men's, women's, and non-binary divisions: $400 for first, $200 for second, and $100 for third.
