Trail Running calendar near Morfa Nefyn 2026-2027

A club organised race at Blaenwern Holiday Centre in Llanybydder on 29 November 2026 covering 6.5 miles on mixed surfaces; junior and senior categories are included and past results are archived online.

A guided 10 km trail run from the Sychnant Pass summit across upland terrain, paced steadily with regular stops; members have free entry while standard entry is £19.50.

Night trail of 6.4 km with 229 m climb around Llandegla Forest, held under BS partially marked conditions with a compulsory safety briefing and kit including a headtorch with two hours light. Entry £5 on the day.

Trail races at Alyn Waters on 5 December 2026 include 5 km, 10 km and a canicross 5 km plus a free children's 1 km dash. Courses are fully marked and marshalled, chip timed and finishers receive a medal.

Trail races along Offa's Dyke from Prestatyn seafront to summit finishes, offered as half, full and a 55.5 km ultra. GPS tracking, coach travel for ticket holders and a wooden finisher medal are provided.

A night trail run of 8 km with 244 m of climb around Dinas Bran Leisure Centre in Llangollen. A good head torch is essential and online entry carries a £5 fee.

A 24 hour ultra challenge from a Ruthin campsite visiting five trig points totaling 94 km, with a 4 trig 70 km option and on-site facilities.

A pre Christmas trail run on Moel Famau from Bwlch Penbarras that keeps the distance a surprise. The course is between 6 and 12 kilometres, includes hills and varied terrain, and finishes with a mince pie and festive medal.

An informal pre Christmas meet up at Conwy Falls offering a leisurely walk or run of up to two hours, followed by a debrief and refreshments at Conwy Falls Cafe. Member and paid entry options are available.

A traditional Boxing Day fell event near Minsterley, Shropshire, with a 4.8 km course and 244 m of climb on a partially marked route. Modest entry fees apply and proceeds go to the Severn Hospice; walkers and families are welcome.

A remembrance hill race from Pier Gates near Lough Tay on 27 December 2026, offering an 8.5 km main course, a 4.9 km short route and a junior option. Route is fully marked, GPS allowed and basic kit is mandatory.

A downhill fell race of 4 km from Moel Famau summit to Cilcain with about 350 m descent. The route is partially marked, for competitors over 16, and is insured by the WFRA; donations are collected at the White Horse in Cilcain.

A two hour night navigation event near Rosebush featuring a *16 km* woodland route with 660 m climb, a pre-marked map, compulsory kit and required navigation experience. Entry is online with a £10 fee.

A looped multi terrain **5k** from the caravan park and cafe at Llanbenwch near Ruthin, mixing minor roads and public footpaths. The race is electronically timed, awards category prizes and gives all finishers a medal.

Nighttime running from Dublin Castle with a 62 km mountain and road Challenge to Glenmalure and a 25 km Pursuit to Kippure.

Winter mountain race around Yr Wyddfa on 23/01/2027 with full 43.5 km and half 24 km options plus relay and pair formats.

A 50 miles trail ultramarathon around Chester with 849 m ascent, live GPS tracking and seven checkpoints. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association; entrants must be at least 20 and have completed a marathon, with a 17 hour cut..

The North Wales Pilgrims Half Marathon will take place in Morfa Nefyn on Sunday 28 February 2027. You can run 21 kilometers.

Trail races at Loggerheads Country Park in March 2027 offering 5k, 5k canicross and a new 10km route. Varied terrain, riverside paths and a staircase section add distinctive challenges.

A weekend trail festival at Brynkinalt Estate near Wrexham offering approx 5k and 10k races, canicross on Saturday and trail running on Sunday, with water stations, medals and awards.
