Trail Running calendar near Lytham St Annes 2025-2026

Tackle Midgley Moor on 15 February 2026, a 5 mile fell race near Halifax across moorland with steep climbs and navigation challenges. Pre entry or on the day entries; FRA kit is mandatory and teams of three welcome.

Hoppits Hill Fell Race in Mirfield, West Yorkshire is a 5 km single lap fell with 210 m of climb, ideal for hill runners. Junior races join the Yorkshire Junior Championship; pre entry and limited on the day places available.

Cracoe Cracker Challenge on 21 February 2026 invites runners and walkers to scenic 12 and 25 mile routes across the Yorkshire Dales. Well stocked checkpoints and a hot finish meal make this a popular midwinter event now on the waiting list.

Run the Knype Pools 5 on 22 February 2026 with Biddulph Running Club, a scenic 5 mile trail loop around Knypersley Reservoir. Support the mayor's chosen charity and enjoy a friendly pre race fun run and community atmosphere.

Tackle the Chester Ultra 50 mile trail around Chester, linking the Sandstone Trail, Delamere Forest and Helsby Hill within a 17 hour cut off. The 2026 event is sold out and mandatory kit plus a GPS tracker are required.

Take on 24 miles and 3900 ft of ascent across wild moorland in the Dark Peak on Saturday 28 February 2026. Fully supported from Dovestone Reservoir, this scenic but testing route is ideal for experienced walkers and trail runners.

Light up Whinlatter Forest with a headtorch in the Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Tails Night Run, choosing 5k or 10k undulating trail routes. Dogs are welcome with up to two per runner and individual starts for a relaxed, chip timed night event.

Join the Wingerworth Wobble on 28 February 2026 for a scenic undulating 4.66 mile trail around Wingerworth, with fields, woods and a runnable finish. All finishers get a medal, with post race refreshments, a raffle and prize presentation.

Cloud Nine is a classic 9 mile fell race from Congleton to the summit of Bosley Cloud and back, offering rugged trails and great views. Entry is by pre registration only, places are limited and FRA mandatory kit rules apply.

Tackle Ilkley Moor in this annual 8 km fell race with 401 m of climbing and steep, rocky descents that reward bold, technical running. Entries are limited so expect a competitive field and mandatory FRA kit and rules.
