Trail Running calendar near Adelaide 2026-2027

State Cross Country Championships at Waite Campus on 19 July 2026, featuring races from 2 km to 10 km across junior, senior, masters and para categories.

August 2026

Trail races at Sturt Gorge Recreation Park feature winding single-track, creek crossings and varied terrain through woodland and hills. Distances include 21 km, 15 km, 9 km and a short kids cross country run.

Trail runs through Monarto Safari Park and the Lavender Federation Trail to finish at Murray Bridge, with multiple distances and a four-person relay option.

Point to point trail event between the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf on 15 August 2026. Multiple distances from 16 km to 120 km across vineyards, Heysen Trail sections and Adelaide Hills terrain.

The Granite Island Run on 16 August 2026 in Victor Harbor offers long and short courses plus a Kids Dash across the causeway, with gravel trails, tram lines, stairs and an island climb, timed bibs, and onsite bag drop and medical services.

September 2026

Trail Running SA stages a multi-distance trail event at Cleland National Park with hilly native trails, wildlife viewing, drink stations and post-race refreshments. A kids cross-country and medals for placegetters are included.

Backyard Everest invites runners to chase big elevation on 5.3 km loops at Black Hill Park with about 369 m climb per lap. Choose 3, 6, 12 or 20 hour entries and add extra laps to push toward the Everest equivalent within 24 hours.

A looped out and back race based at Lyndoch along the Barossa Walking Trail, passing vineyards and a winery start and finish. Multiple distances from 1 km to 63.3 km are offered with staffed aid stations on the loop.

The Operation Flinders City to Summit will take place in Mount Lofty on Friday 25 September 2026. You can run 21 kilometers.

This ultramarathon festival takes place over six days at scenic Thorndon Park near Adelaide. The event also features shorter 24, 48, and 72-hour race options within the same venue.

The Yurrebilla Trail 56Km Ultra will take place in Belair on Sunday 27 September 2026. You can run between 13 and 56 kilometers.

October 2026

Mount Bold is the final On the Trails race on 11 October 2026, hosting the SA Trail Championships with distances from 10 km to 35 km and ITRA/UTMB recognition. Short courses allow walkers; mandatory gear includes a drinking vessel and mobil..

Trail running at Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve offering four distances from 10 km to 35 km plus a kids' run, drink stations (bring your own cup), UTMB Index long courses, championship prizes and on-site refreshments.

Point to point trail running on the Heysen Trail across coastal, forest and farmland terrain, with multiple single day distances and multi day combinations.

November 2026

A Halloween edition running festival on November 1 2026 in Murray Bridge with 5 km, 10 km and half marathon courses along the Murray River plus a kids fun run.

A time-based 6- or 12-hour ultra on an AIMS-certified 2.56464 km riverside loop near Glenelg, with one aid station, rotating course direction every three hours, on-course refreshments, and finisher medals.

February 2027

Trail running in Belair National Park on 28 Feb 2027 with 5 km to 50 km options and substantial elevation gains on historic forest trails.

March 2027

A coastal trail event on the Fleurieu Peninsula (Port Elliot) on 15 March 2026, offering distances from a 2km kids dash to a 21.1km half marathon. Courses start and finish at Port Elliot Caravan Park and all finishers receive a medal.

May 2027

A frontyard ultra at Victoria Park, Adelaide, where runners complete a 6.71 km loop on the hour every hour until only one remains. The spectator friendly format is part of the Ultra Series Australia.

July 2027

The Ultra Adelaide will take place in Adelaide from Saturday 10 July 2027 to Sunday 11 July 2027. You can run between 21 and 100 miles.
