About the race
Race #5 Mount Bold is part of the TRSA On the Trails series and includes the South Australian Trail Championships. It takes place at Mount Bold Road, Kangarilla, on 11 October 2026, centred on the Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve and surrounding native vegetation.
The course network runs around the reservoir and through stringybark and manna gum woodlands, swamps and creeks. The site supports native wildlife and conservation areas; organisers note more than 160 native animals on the property. Mount Bold is located within driving distance of central Adelaide.
The event offers four distance options and a kids cross country run. The long and extra long courses are registered as UTMB Index races and ITRA National Challenge events. Routes and maps are published for each distance and may be subject to change; competitors are advised to download final maps shortly before the event.
Drink stations provide water, Tailwind and lollies; participants must bring their own drinking container. There are drink stations, nutrition, prize presentations for championship placegetters and a members only random draw. Walkers are permitted in the short event only. Course closures and pace cutoffs apply for each distance and will be strictly enforced.
