Race #2 Mount Misery
Race #2 Mount Misery is a trail running event held at Fox Creek Bike Park Upper Car Park on Croft Road in Lenswood, within the Cudlee Creek Forest Reserve in the Mount Lofty Ranges. The area supports abundant wildlife and the event notes the local character named Eddie the Emu. The terrain is mainly fire trail with sections of single track and includes sustained climbs and viewpoints on Mt Misery.
Distances offered:
- Long: 24 km, 1225 m elevation
- Medium: 15 km, 843 m elevation
- Short: 8 km, 368 m elevation
- Kids cross country: about 1 to 1.5 km
Race services include drink stations supplying water and lollies, on-course nutrition, medals for placegetters, and the event’s well known brownies at the finish. The long course is listed as a UTMB Index race and an ITRA National Challenge event; the courses do not attract ITRA points. Routes and maps may change because of forestry logging operations; organizers advise downloading final maps close to the event.
Course cutoffs and a course-sweeper policy are enforced and specific pace cutoffs apply for each distance. Walkers may participate in the 8 km event only. Event parking relies on car pooling and further parking instructions are provided in the race briefing. A free kids cross-country run is organised near the finish with on-site registration on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
