Punk Panther Wharfedale Skyline

Punk Panther Wharfedale Skyline is an off-road running event on routes around the hills near Otley, Ilkley and Guiseley. The course passes notable features such as Otley Chevin’s Surprise View, the Cow and Calf Rocks and Lindley Wood Reservoir. Routes are taped and signed before the event but tape should not be relied on as it can be moved or removed.

Distances follow half marathon to ultramarathon lengths. Climb figures, ITRA points and UTMB qualification status are published for each distance. Checkpoints along the course provide water, cola, energy bars and crisps with vegan and gluten free options. The organiser supplies trackers for ultramarathon entrants; shorter-distance competitors may hire a tracker for a fee and live tracking is available on the event tracker screen.

Competitors must be at least 18 years old and the event limits entries to 200. A minimum kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks may be carried out on course; the list includes a waterproof jacket, survival bag, whistle, personal first aid kit, hard copy map, and a tracker for ultramarathon entrants. Head torches are required for the longest distance. Registration takes place at Otley Cricket Club and the finish is at Otley Cricket Club Pavilion. Finishers receive a medal and an event T-shirt; food and hot drinks are available at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
