Wharfedale Skyline

Punk Panther Wharfedale Skyline is a trail running event that follows routes around Otley, Ilkley and Guiseley. Routes run close to Otley Chevin’s Surprise View, the Cow and Calf Rocks in Ilkley and Lindley Wood Reservoir. The event is the tenth race in the Punk Panther series and has a limit of 200 entrants.

Climb figures for the courses are given as 1700, 2800 and 4800 feet respectively. The event carries ITRA points of 1, 1 and 2 and UTMB qualifying status Q20K, Q20K and Q50K for the three distances. Minimum age is 18.

All ultramarathon entrants are supplied with a tracker; trail race runners can hire a tracker for a fee. The tracker feeds a live event screen and includes an emergency button that, if used in range, ends the runner s race. Checkpoints and timing points are on the course; failure to pass timing points may lead to penalty or disqualification. Checkpoints provide water, cola, energy bars and crisps with vegan and gluten free options.

A provisional GPX and route description are available and a final GPX will be emailed in the final instructions. A kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks may be carried out. Lets Motor along the Towpath in Rodley is a canal-side trail event on a flat towpath with distances from 10k to ultramarathon. The course is signed and marshalled, has regular feed stations and a bespoke finisher medal.
