Vertical Vendetta

Vertical Vendetta takes place at Pass Powderkeg Ski Area in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The event is a loop race focused on vertical gain, where competitors repeat prescribed ascents and descents on a marked route.

The course distance is 9.75 km with 1,000 m of elevation gain. Runners complete four ascents of the lift line route and return by a slightly easier descent line. The average grade on the climb is about 25%.

The route includes multiple timing points and a single aid station located at the bottom of the hill. The maximum allowed duration is three hours. If demand is high, organizers will use wave starts or heats assigned by registration date and time.

Categories listed for the event include Female, Male, Masters (40+), Juniors (17 and under), and Non-binary / Other. The race date is May 29, 2027 and the registration deadline is May 23, 2027 at 23:59 MDT or when full. Entry fee is $65 plus GST.

Registered participants receive a custom swag item, complimentary race photos, and a custom medal. A mountain trail ultra in Fernie BC covering about 50 km with 2,700 m of ascent and varied single track. An optional 15 km Headwall Hustle is available the following day for a combo entry.
