Vertical Vendetta

Vertical Vendetta is a Vertical K style race held at the Pass Powderkeg Ski Area in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. This mountain event features a loop course designed around the terrain of the ski hill in Blairmore.

The primary objective of the race is to reach a total elevation gain milestone of 1,000 meters. Participants achieve this by completing four ascents of the established lift line route. While the climbs are steep, with an average grade of 25%, the descent route offers a more gradual path back down the hill.

The total race distance is 9.75 km. The event logistics include:

  • A single aid station located at the bottom of the hill.
  • Multiple timing points throughout the course.
  • A maximum time limit of three hours.
  • Possible wave starts or heats depending on the number of registered runners.

The competition features several categories, including Male and Female divisions for Open, Masters (40+), and Juniors (17 and under), as well as a Non-binary/Other category. Participants receive a custom swag item, a finisher medal, and access to complimentary race photographs. Parking is provided in a large lot south of Isabelle Sellon School, located to the east of the start area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
