Headwall Hustle

The Headwall Hustle is a 15 km race segment of the Elk Valley Ultra held at Fernie Alpine Resort in Fernie, BC. The trail route climbs through Cedar Bowl up to the Headwall, then traverses into Timber Bowl for a steep descent to the finish area.

Pre-registration requirement: all racers must complete the online RCR event waiver before completing registration. Racers need their RCR Event Release Agreement ID for checkout and must ensure the first and last name on the waiver match their UltraSignup account.

Field size and categories: the 15 km is limited to 200 racers. Categories include Male, Female and Non-Binary, with age groups (<19), 19-49, and 50+.

Pricing and combo option: 15 km adult Early Bird $100 and regular $120 (regular pricing starts March 1). Youth (<19) Early Bird $80 and regular $100. Combo pricing is available for those entering both the Elk Valley Ultra and the Headwall Hustle, with separate Early Bird and regular prices for adults and youth.

Event services and logistics: swag bag including Stag Leap sticker and technical socks, finish line brunch buffet, category trophies, free racer photography downloads, and a fully stocked aid station. Vertical Vendetta is a loop mountain race at Pass Powderkeg in Crowsnest Pass on May 30, 2026. Runners complete four steep ascents to reach 1,000 m of elevation gain over about 9.75 km, with timing points and a single aid station.
