Race Information

The Headwall Hustle is a 15km race segment that is part of the parent race, the Elk Valley Ultra. The route goes through Fernie Alpine Resort. Participants climb through Cedar Bowl up to the Headwall, then traverse into Timber Bowl for a steep descent to the finish line.

Categories and Pricing

The event offers a 15km distance with a limit of 200 racers. Categories are Male, Female and Non-Binary, with age divisions (under 19), 19-49, and 50+.

  • 15km Youth (under 19) : Early Bird $80 // Regular Pricing $100

Combo pricing is available for racing both the Elk Valley Ultra and the Headwall Hustle.

Race Weekend Details

Registration is online and an online RCR Event Waiver is required before registering. Registration closes on Wednesday, July 15 at 11:59 PM MT. Bib pick-up is available on Friday, July 24 (Park Place Lodge) or Saturday, July 25 (Start/Finish Area of EVU).

The race starts on Sunday, July 26 from Fernie Alpine Resort. A finish line brunch buffet runs from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. Awards are at 11 AM at the Finish Line. Racers receive a swag bag, a sticker, technical socks, and free race photography downloads. A fully stocked aid station is on the course.
