The Divide 200 : Castle Mountain Resort, Alberta

The Divide 200 takes place at Castle Mountain Resort, Pincher Creek No. 9, Alberta, Canada. The route highlights portions of the Great Divide Trail and runs through the Castle and Crowsnest region of the southern Rockies, emphasizing alpine travel and ridge walking.

The course is a mix of single track, double track, a small amount of road, cross-country, bushwhacking, and scrambling. Some sections require route finding even though the course is prescribed; terrain can be rugged and remote. Checkpoints occur every 20 to 40 km depending on the section. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach provided by the organizers for navigation and safety.

For 2026 the event includes additional formats:

  • 200 miles solo
  • 100 km solo (about 115 km)
  • 200 miles relay for teams of 2 to 8

The race is capped at 100 entrants. There is a cash prize purse for the top three male and female finishers in the 200 mile solo category, and pre- and post-race meals are included for 200 mile and 100 km entrants.
