Two Roses Ultra

The Two Roses Ultra is an endurance event that spans two counties, starting and finishing at the Wadsworth Community Centre in Old Town, Hebden Bridge. The event offers participants the opportunity to explore the landscapes of Lancashire and Yorkshire through three distinct route options.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 50 km (Red Rose route)
  • 50 km (White Rose route)
  • 100 km (The "2 Roses" figure of 8 route)

The Red Rose section heads from the event headquarters toward Burnley. The course passes through the village of Worsthorne and Townley Park. The return journey travels toward Cliviger and includes a steep climb to Gaddings Dam and Stoodly Pike before descending into Hebden Bridge and returning to the community centre.

The White Rose section directs runners toward the historic area of Haworth and on to Bingley. This route features Cottingley Woods, characterized by its greenery and waterfalls, and passes Ogden Water. The final stretch crosses the moor to reach the finish line.

The 100 km option combines both the Red Rose and White Rose loops in a figure of 8 formation. After completing the first loop, participants return to the headquarters for food before starting the second loop. A time limit of 24 hours is provided for the 100 km distance. The event is scheduled near midsummer to provide maximum daylight for participants.

This event is open to individuals aged 18 and older. Registration and the start/finish area are located at the Wadsworth Community Centre in Hebden Bridge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
