Ilkley Skyline (35km / 22km)

Ilkley Skyline is a fell running event that uses a looped route starting and finishing at The Hermit Inn in Burley. The main route is described as 35 km with about 910 m of ascent; a shorter route option is also offered.

  • 35 km (approx. 22 miles) with 910 m ascent
  • 22 km

The route includes Beamsley Beacon, Round Hill and summits along Burley Moor, Ilkley Moor and Rombalds Moor, and in total crosses at least eight moors. Most of the course is on fell or field terrain with some short sections of road. The longest road section follows the climb up from the river at the stepping stones through Burley back to The Hermit.

The event includes a number of checkpoints and two aid stations located at Addingham (14 km) and Timble (25 km). The course is unmarked so participants require a route map or a GPX file to navigate; GPX files are allowed. The route takes place on fully accessible land and recces are encouraged but not essential.

Event parking is provided at Scalebor Car Park LS29 7SQ. There is no parking available at The Hermit as that space is reserved for the pub's patrons. Registration and the race start and finish take place outside The Hermit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
