The Ilkley Skyline takes place on 15/08/2026 and starts and finishes outside the Hermit Inn in Burley Woodhead, Ilkley. The route is based on a fell running route conceived in 2013 and runs across the moors surrounding Ilkley. The course covers at least eight moors and includes Beamsley Beacon, Round Hill, and summits on Burley Moor, Ilkley Moor, and Rombalds Moor.

Most of the route is on fell or field terrain with some short road sections. The longest road section is the climb from the river at the stepping stones through Burley back to the Hermit. The event includes a number of checkpoints and two aid stations located at Addingham (14 km) and Timble (25 km). The route is unmarked; runners must use a route map or GPX file for navigation and GPX is allowed. The route takes place on publicly accessible land and recce runs are encouraged but not essential. Event parking is at Scalebor Car Park LS29 7SQ; there is no parking at the Hermit so that space is reserved for patrons. Registration and the race start and finish take place outside the Hermit Inn. Run scenic looped trails around historic Kirkstall Abbey, following riverside paths, woodlands and towpaths with distances from 8.8 miles up to an ultra. Expect varied terrain, friendly marshals, feed stations and a bespoke finisher medal.
