The Ilkley Skyline is a challenging 22-mile fell running race held in Burley in Wharfedale, near Ilkley. The route, originally created in 2013 by Mike Ayers, covers at least eight moors including Burley Moor, Ilkley Moor, and Rombalds Moor, featuring notable summits like Beamsley Beacon and Round Hill. With 3,000 feet of elevation gain, the course is mostly fell and field running with some short road sections.
The unmarked route requires runners to navigate using a map or GPX file. The race starts and finishes at The Hermit Inn, with aid stations at 14km and 25km. Facilities include water stations, toilets, and baggage storage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
