Troublesome Hollow is a multi-distance trail event in Bristol, Virginia, held April 25-26, 2026. Distances offered include:

The course follows riverside trails that are described as flat and fast in places and features swinging bridges, trestles, and one small climb to a fire tower. The 25K route includes the Benhams to Mendota section with double crossings of a swinging bridge. Five aid stations are available along the course.

The event uses professional chip timing provided by ZEN ARCADE TIMING and operates as a cupless race; participants must carry a reusable cup for drinks. Packet pickup for the 50K is held at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, while 25K packet pickup is arranged at the race start area on race morning.

The organizer provides guidance for athletes with disabilities: entrants must be able to run the course, tethers are allowed for visually impaired runners, prosthetics and approved assistive devices may be used, and the course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entrants who identify as transgender or non-binary may register using their declared gender.
