Dam Yeti 50 - Abingdon, VA - June 6-7, 2026
Dam Yeti 50 is an annual trail event in the Abingdon area that offers multiple ultra and trail distances running along established mountain trails. The main course uses national forest terrain and passes through the mountain town of Damascus before continuing toward Alvarado. Finish locations named for the event include Sweetbay Brewing Co. and The Meadows.
The route includes a notable early segment of about 9.8 miles that descends through National Forest views, followed by a 6.9 mile approach into Damascus. A broken Pepsi machine between Damascus and Alvarado is listed as a distinct course landmark. The 50 mile is organized as an out-and-back with a pacer pickup option; the 55K is a point-to-point route.
Operational details provided by the organizer note that the event is cupless, so participants must carry a hydration pack or bottles. A morning shuttle from the Abingdon trailhead is provided and self-drop at the start is allowed. The course includes crew access points and on-course support. A separate Pepsi Challenge 25K takes place the following day with a special award for completing both event days.
The event is part of the From Start to Heart series. Series registration is limited to 50 entries and covers three races for a single fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
