Course details note an early downhill segment of approximately 9.8 miles with National Forest views, followed by about 6.9 miles that approach the town of Damascus. The route passes a well known broken Pepsi machine between Damascus and Alvarado. The 50 mile is run as an out and back with a pacer pickup option; the 55K runs as a single point route. Cutoffs are published for each distance.
Logistics include a cupless policy so a hydration pack or bottle is required. A morning shuttle from the Abingdon trailhead is provided and self drop at the start is allowed. The course is described as well supported with crew access points. Timing services are provided by a professional race timing company.
