Event Overview
The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run is a point-to-point ultramarathon on trails. It is an official Western States qualifier. The 10th annual event takes place in October.
Registration & Qualification
Registration requires a qualification run. Runners must have completed 50 miles within 12 months of the race date or have finished 100 miles in the last two years. Planned qualifying events are also accepted.
Course & Logistics
The race start and finish is at The Meadows in Abingdon, Virginia. There is a course adjustment in place; it includes a small out-and-back section near Damascus to achieve the full 100-mile distance. The race has a 30-hour cutoff and only three official cutoff points.
A shuttle service is available for crew and pacers, running from the Abingdon Trailhead to near the Damascus Aid Station throughout the day. Crew access is permitted at designated locations: The Meadows (start/finish), Watauga Trailhead, Alvarado Station, and Damascus Aid Station.
Rules & Requirements
The event is a cupless race; runners must carry a reusable cup. Mandatory gear includes a headlamp, a light jacket for overnight, 16 oz of hydration capacity, 300 calories, and a collapsible cup for warm food. Pacers are allowed starting at mile 52, or at mile 36 for runners aged 65 and over. Drop bags are permitted.
On-Site Amenities
Aid stations provide water, Coke, Ginger Ale, and Gatorade. Food includes chips, nuts, Oreos, fruit snacks, candy, bananas, soup, and hot food surprises like hamburgers and pierogi. Packet pickup is held the day before the race at Sweetbay Brewing in Abingdon. Post-race, all drop bags are returned to the brewery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
