The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run
Abingdon, United States • 9 Oct 2026
Event overview
The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run is a 100-mile trail ultramarathon held in Abingdon, Virginia. The event uses the Virginia Creeper Trail and the start/finish area is at The Meadows, 78 Cook Street, Abingdon. The course is USATF certified (VA19003MS) and is an official Western States qualifier. Entry requires a recent qualifier: completion of 50 miles on foot within 12 months, a 100-mile finish within the last two years, or registration for a planned 50-mile or 24-hour qualifying event.
Course and logistics
The organizers adjusted the course due to an unrepaired trestle on Straight Branch, adding a short out-and-back on the first pass through Damascus to reach the 100-mile distance; that bonus section is run only on the first pass. Crew-accessible locations and drop bag points are noted on the online course map. Drop bags must be soft-sided, liftable by one person with one hand, and will be returned to the packet pickup location after the race. There is a crew shuttle serving a designated trailhead; shuttle service must be scheduled in advance for after-hours requests.
Race support, gear and rules
Mandatory gear includes a reusable cup, 300 calories, 16 oz hydration capacity, headlamp, light overnight jacket, and a collapsible cup for warm food. The race is cupless. Pacers are allowed starting at mile 52; runners age 65 and older may have a pacer starting at mile 36. Aid stations provide water, sports drinks, sodas, fruit, salty and sweet snacks, soups (including vegan options), hamburgers, and pierogi. Key rules include no aid from moving vehicles or bikes, no leaving the course, no storing supplies along the trail, and zero tolerance for performance enhancing drugs. Athletes with disabilities must be able to finish within the 30-hour cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
