Tinto Hill Race

Organised by Carnethy Hill Running Club, this is an A-category short hill race on Tinto Hill. The route is unmarked in places and crosses ground above 2000 feet. The course distance is 4.4 miles with approximately 1500 feet of ascent. Registration, parking and post-race refreshments are at Damn Delicious, Thankerton Camp Farm, Thankerton, Biggar ML12 6PD; parking is strictly on the farm grounds and not at the Tinto public car park or nearby roads. Prize presentation and refreshments, including free soup, take place at the same location.

Entries are online only via SiEntries; entries open 17 September 2025 and close 31 October 2025. Entry fee is £13. Minimum age is 16. Competitors must carry mandatory kit throughout the race: waterproof jacket with hood, waterproof overtrousers, hat, gloves, map and compass suitable for navigation, and a whistle. Suitable fell or equivalent shoes are required; road shoes are not acceptable. Kit checks will be carried out. If a competitor retires they must report to the nearest marshal and hand in their race number to the organisers.

Tinto Junior Hill Race

A separate junior race is held for under-16s over about 2 km / 80 m on the lower slopes of Totherin Hill. The junior route is marked and marshalled; under-8s should be accompanied by an adult. Registration for juniors takes place on the day at the main Tinto Hill car park, with numbers issued from there. Parents may take part in the main race while juniors wait in the finish area. A mainly offroad walking event from Peebles offering *27.6 miles* or *16.4 miles* routes with large climbs above the Tweed Valley and a finish in Peebles with hot food available.

A 16 km unmarked hill race in the Lowther Hills with 1200 m of climb, limited to 200 runners. Competitors must carry mandatory kit, bring a refillable cup for water stations, and be prepared to navigate open, pathless terrain.

Glentress 8 Hour Challenge is an 8 hour running event at Glentress on 6 June 2026 organised by NU Limits Running. Registration for this edition closed on 3 March 2026.

Obstacle races at Hopetoun Estate near Edinburgh on June 7, 2026 include Sprint 5 km, Super 10 km and Beast 21 km, plus a kids race. Participants can attempt a Trifecta in one day while Tough Mudder Scotland runs the same weekend.
