The Portobello Beach Race is scheduled for 30 August 2026 and is licensed by Scottish Athletics. Registration takes place at Powerleague Portobello, 10 Westbank Street, Edinburgh, EH15 1DR. Race numbers are required to compete and are non-transferable and non-refundable.

The route is run on the sand at low tide and is approximately 4 miles long. The start is on the beach below Towerbank Primary School. Depending on tide conditions, competitors may need to climb over groynes or run around the seaward ends and may get their feet wet.

Online entry fee is £10 and entries are limited to 350. Entry is restricted to athletes aged 16 or over on race day. Prizes are awarded at the promenade beside registration, limited to one prize per person, across multiple age and gender categories.

There will be a Kids' Fun Run on race day; further details are available from the club website. Limited public parking is available at Bridge Street and nearby side streets. The event has toilet facilities at Powerleague and about 200 m west along the promenade, a safe bag drop, and water and snacks at the finish.
