The Marlow Donkey is a challenge event organised by LDWA - Thames Valley on 4 October 2026. The event starts and finishes at Liston Hall (Marlow Community Association), Chapel Street, Marlow, Bucks, SL7 1DD. Entry is limited to 150 places. Timed e-certificates will be available after the event and a free badge is provided.
Routes and services
Routes are approximately 25 km, 40 km, and 50 km. The 50 km route marks the group’s 50th anniversary and includes a figure-of-eight through the Hambleden area, with the long route extending to Bix. Drinks and snacks are provided at the start and at outward checkpoints, with minimal provision at Bix (CP3). A simple meal (daal curry) is provided at the finish. The event notes that food cannot be guaranteed free from allergen contamination.
Entry and equipment
Entries open 1 June 2026 and close 20 September 2026. Entry fees are £15.00 for LDWA members and £20.00 for non-members. No entries on the day and no refunds. Entrants must carry minimum kit including a personal drinking container, a plastic mug, paper route description or maps/GPS, compass, mobile phone, whistle, basic first aid kit, suitable footwear and waterproofs. Entrants under 18 must have written consent from an adult and be accompanied by them. Car parking is available in nearby town car parks and Marlow train station is about a 10 minute walk.
