The event takes place on Saturday 17 January 2026 at St Michaels Church Hall, Mytholmroyd. It is organised by 12th Halifax Sea Scouts. Entry was open from 1 August 2025 and closed on 1 December 2025. Entries were limited to 500 participants; a waiting list opens after the limit is reached. Transfers were allowed up to 31 December 2025 and no entry changes are permitted after 1 January.

The long route includes over 4,000 feet of climbing. The shorter route has less ascent but is described as similarly demanding. The entry fee was £25.00 and included refreshments at the start and en route, a meal at the finish, and transport for retirees.

Registration is at St Michaels Church Hall, Mytholmroyd. Car parking is available at Mytholmroyd Community Centre (HX7 5DY, grid ref SE011259). Bus stops and a train station are close by. The organiser recommends 1:25,000 Outdoor Leisure Map 21 - South Pennines and provides walked digital mapping for OS Maps app and Garmin devices. Participants are advised to wear clothing suitable for winter conditions, carry the recommended kit, and have some navigational ability. Under-18s must be walking with an adult. Take on the Ossy Moors Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday 15 April 2026. This lively 5 mile fell course with about 300 m of climb weaves Bowland trails and offers on the day entry for a friendly competitive vibe.

Herod Farm Fell Race is a classic mid-week fell run. The course covers 3 miles with 1,100ft of ascent. Race HQ at Jubilee House offers parking, toilets, and post-race refreshments.

A 230 km Pennine Bridleway trail challenge to be completed within 75 hours, crossing Peak District and Yorkshire moors to finish in Cumbria. Indoor checkpoints provide hot meals, sleeping space and water support.

A 137 km trail challenge on the Pennine Bridleway with a 50 hour cut-off, indoor checkpoints, bunkroom accommodation and GPX navigation support. Entry is limited to 20 participants and total ascent is 3275 m.
