Cobbler Hill Race 2026

Cobbler Hill Race takes place on Saturday 11 April 2026 and uses the area around Ardgartan Hotel. Registration is at the rear of Ardgartan Hotel and opens at 9.30am, closing at 11.30am. Participants should remove hill shoes when entering the hotel. The start is about 3 km from the hotel and the walk time to the start is approximately 30 minutes along a forest track, so allowance should be made for parking and getting to registration.

The course is 6 km long with 730 m of ascent. The route climbs by the old path to a first mandatory checkpoint that must be passed on ascent and descent, continues along An t-Sron to a second checkpoint by the Central Peak, and returns by the same route. The whole route is marked with flags and, in places, painted posts. Marshals on the hill are members of Mountain Rescue and will be positioned at key points. All checkpoints are mandatory and participants must follow instructions from marshals and event crew.

Safety and kit notes state that spot checks will be carried out at the start line and full waterproof body cover must be carried. Minimum age to take part is 18. There will be parking marshals and Ardgartan Hotel provides toilets and a bar which open from 1pm. Prize giving will be held after the race at Ardgartan Hotel. Public transport options include buses 926 and 976 to Ardgartan Visitor Centre and Arrochar and Tarbet train station is about 4.1 miles from the hotel.
