Teacup Tune-up Trail Running Race

The Teacup Tune-up is a trail running race held on the Teacup Ski Trail System on Sept. 27. This is the second annual running event at Teacup and it uses a revised course that moves around the lake and through the ski trail network.

Distances offered include:

  • 7.5K
  • 2.2K (for age 12 and under)
  • 1.3K kids race

The course passes lake views, Nordic Junction, and the Tea Time area. Early sections run on wide ski trails that narrow into single-track through bunch grass. The descent includes a mix of a loose, technical section on Revenge, the paved smooth surface of Hood River Road, and the soft but stable two-track of Elkhorn. Return routes follow Owly Way, the Vista Ridge Running Connection, and Vista Ridge, climbing on old forest roads, ski trails, and single track back to the high point and the cabin finish.

Event logistics note that parking is at the main lot and the trail has been mowed to the cabin where check-in and the start/finish are located. One water station will be located at the beginning of Owly Way. Restrooms will be open. Organizers will provide some light refreshments; additional water and snacks are recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
