North Bonneville, United States • 3 Oct 2026
Event overview
Lastest Not Fastest is a last-person-standing trail race held on October 3, 2026, on Hamilton Island beside North Bonneville, Washington, in the Columbia River Gorge. The event is limited to a capacity of 125 participants. Runners depart every hour and the race continues until only one runner remains.
Course and format
The course is a 4.13-mile loop with about 103 feet of elevation gain. Each loop must be started on the hour and completed in under 60 minutes to remain in the race. All loop times and total distance are recorded and posted to Ultrasignup; a runner is only marked DNF if they fail to complete the first lap. The route runs alongside the Columbia River, passes near the Bonneville Dam area, crosses a road about halfway, includes one notable hill of roughly 30 feet, and returns to the start/finish parking area.
Logistics and support
The start/finish area serves as the primary aid station, stocked with electrolytes, water, gels, snacks, sandwiches, fruit, and hot broths at night. Crew are optional; they may set up in designated parking areas and use a small tent (10 ft x 10 ft max), but crew cannot access runners while those runners are on the course. There is no overnight parking the night before the race. The site is about 46 miles east of Portland. The event follows a cancellation policy that provides a 50% credit for cancellations made more than 30 days before the race and no credit within 30 days.
