Angel's Rest is a trail running event on Saturday, Oct 11, 2025, based at Benson State Recreation Area near Cascade Locks, OR in the Columbia River Gorge. The courses pass Multnomah and Wahkeena Falls and use sections of Larch Mountain and Sherrard Point. Some routes go through areas affected by the 2017 Eagle Creek fire.

Courses and entry

  • 50K - Around and to the top of Larch Mountain. 6500 ft of elevation gain and 6500 ft of elevation loss. Four full aid stations. Surface: 55% single-track, 30% two-track or gravel road, 15% pavement.
  • 20 Mile - Route past Multnomah Falls onto Larch Mountain Trail to Sherrard Point, then mostly downhill to the finish. 4200 ft of elevation gain. Three full aid stations. Surface: 55% single-track, 30% two-track, 15% pavement. Time limit: 8 hours.
  • 10K - One loop from Benson State Recreation Area up Larch Mountain Trail and down Wahkeena Trail. 6.2 miles with 1600 ft gain and 1600 ft loss. Surface: 75% single-track, 25% paved trail.
  • 10K Youth Trail - Discounted entry for runners under 20 and two free entries available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration closes Wed, Oct 8 at 11:59 PM PT. Transfers to other runners are not allowed. Cancellations more than 30 days before the race are eligible for a 50% credit toward the same event the following year; cancellations 30 days or less before the race receive no credit, refund, or transfer. Thunder River is a fall trail race in Cascade Locks, Oregon, with scenic river views and seasonal colors along the Pacific Crest Trail. Choose a 25K or 50K route that finishes at Marine Park after a loop around Thunder Island.

Experience a challenging 7 mile trail run from Dog Mountain Trailhead with sweeping views of the Columbia River, Mt Hood and Mt St. Helens. Expect a steep climb to the summit and a thrilling single track descent through the Gorge.

Run among waterfalls and the dramatic Columbia River Gorge with 30K, 50K and 100K trail options from April 10 to 12, 2026. Expect marked courses, aid stations, camping nearby and a classic Pacific Northwest trail experience.

Run scenic river and forest trails at Oxbow Regional Park with 5k, 10k and half marathon options on April 26, 2026. Limited to 150 runners, the cupless event features aid stations, post race food and an Oxbow cup for root beer floats.
