OUTLAST PORTLAND

OUTLAST is a six-hour trail endurance challenge held in North Plains, Oregon, at 21215 NW Brunswick Canyon Rd. Runners attempt a 5K loop each hour; each lap must be completed within that hour to remain in the event. Completing all six laps awards the premium OUTLAST medal and places the finisher on the national leaderboard.

The course is trail-based with natural terrain, elevation, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Each 5K is timed individually and a runner’s combined time across all six laps determines local winners. There is time between rounds for recovery and refueling. Aid at the basecamp/loop start will provide water, basic hydration, and snacks. The event is cupless, so participants are expected to provide their own bottle or hydration system.

Recognition and prizes are tiered by laps completed: four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earn a “Survivor” patch, and six laps earn the premium OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. The top male and female at each event are determined by the fastest combined 5K times. Finishers appear on a national leaderboard; the fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6-hour events earns the National Champion title and a $1,000 cash prize. Top city champions also qualify for the Outlast Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where championship prizes are awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
