The Long Watch
The Long Watch is a timed endurance running event hosted at Donald Farm in Woodland, Washington (424 Whalen Rd). The event takes place alongside the Warrior Expo, a multi-day gathering that includes Strongman competitions, Highland Games, and battles in medieval suits of armor. The Warrior Expo brings together athletes, vendors, and spectators from across the Pacific Northwest.
Runners cover as many miles as possible on a measured 1-mile loop that winds through the expo grounds, passing feats of strength, competitions of wood and steel, and vendor areas. The course layout places participants in the changing atmosphere of the expo: an active festival environment during daylight hours and a quieter, low-traffic setting overnight.
A manned aid station is provided on course and is stocked with snacks and support intended for use during both daylight and nighttime hours. The event is offered in multiple timed formats so participants may choose the duration that fits their goals.
Available formats:
- 24-hour timed format
- 12-hour timed format
- 6-hour timed format
The Long Watch emphasizes continuous presence on course during the selected format and the experience of running through changing site activity over day and night. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
