Hood Hundred : Daybreak Racing
Hood Hundred is a 100 mile mountain trail race staged at Mt. Hood Meadows in the Mt. Hood National Forest on the southeastern side of the volcano. The course uses a lollipop loop style route and is described as crew accessible and well supported, with aid stations, radio communications and professional medical coverage. The total elevation change is 17,300 feet of ascent and 17,300 feet of descent.
The event includes chip timing and results, marked trails, post race food and beverages, professional photography, custom participant awards, and a race hoodie for registrants. All finishers receive a custom metal belt buckle. Event services also include shuttles for drop bags and for runners who do not finish, and portajohns for runners and crew. Parking at Mt. Hood Meadows is free during the day. RV and car camping on the Meadows paved parking area is allowed on race weekend with an overnight use fee paid to Mt. Hood Meadows.
Registration is limited to 250 participants for 2026. A service requirement is mandatory for all starters and can be satisfied by eight hours of approved volunteer or trail work, or by a minimum $100 donation to a stewardship focused nonprofit. Verification of the service requirement must be submitted by the stated deadline or the entrant may be removed from the start list.
The 2026 race is a Western States qualifier with a specified overall cutoff for qualification. The organizers include a land acknowledgement recognizing the Indigenous peoples who stewarded these lands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
