Hood Hundred is a mountain trail ultramarathon staged at Mt. Hood Meadows in the Mt. Hood National Forest on the southeastern side of the volcano. The race covers 100 miles on a lollipop-loop style course with about 17,300 feet of ascent and 17,300 feet of descent. The course is crew accessible and supported with multiple aid stations on route. The 2026 edition is a Western States qualifying race; runners must complete the course in under 34 hours to meet the Western States entry requirement. All finishers receive a custom metal belt buckle and podium finishers receive a hand made award.
Logistics and entry
The 2026 race is scheduled for August 1-2, 2026 and registration opens December 1. Early registration (Dec 1-7) is listed at $395 and a later window (Dec 8-July 19, if available) is listed at $435; fees do not include applicable taxes or processing fees. The field is capped at 300 participants and a waitlist will open once the race fills. The registration fee includes a marked course, custom race hoodie, parking, chip timing, aid stations, medical support, radio communications, post-race food and beverages, shuttles for drop bags and DNFs, portable toilets, and professional photography. A service requirement is mandatory for all 2026 starters and must be completed between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026 by performing eight hours of approved work or by a minimum $100 donation; documentation is due by July 1, 2026.
