Wy’east Trailfest is a mountain trail running event presented by Daybreak Racing on August 15-16, 2026 at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area in the Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon. The festival includes multiple trail races across alpine terrain that reach up to 8,000 feet elevation. Registration opens January 1, 2026. The event offers marked courses, chip timing and results, full-service aid stations, medical support, post-race food and beverages, custom finisher awards, livestream production and professional photography.
Courses and distances
- 50 Miler : 50.2 miles, point-to-point, 10,650' gain, 8,800' loss
- 50K : 31.1 miles, point-to-point, 6,900' gain, 5,900' loss, $12,000 purse
- 28K : 17.3 miles, single loop, 4,300' gain and loss, 4,500'-8,000' elevation range
- 14K Hill Climb : 8.9 miles, up-and-down course, 2,700' gain, climbs to 8,000'
- Half Marathon : 13.1 miles, single loop, 2,400' gain and loss, includes Umbrella Falls and Timberline Trail
- 8K : 5.0 miles, single loop, 850' gain, no time cutoff
- Kids Race : 0.75 mile point-to-point, free, not timed; children under 6 must be accompanied
Logistics and awards
The event location is on the southeastern side of Mt. Hood off Highway 35, about a 1.5 hour drive from Portland. RV and car camping are available on paved parking at Mt. Hood Meadows on Friday and Saturday nights for an overnight use fee through Mt. Hood Meadows; no soft-surface camping is provided. Podium finishers receive awards and the top three finishers receive guaranteed free entry to next year’s Wy’east Trailfest. A nonbinary athlete policy sets performance thresholds for prize eligibility in the 50K (5:50:00) and 28K (2:45:00). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
