Wy'east Trailfest
Wy'east Trailfest is a weekend mountain trail running event held at Mt. Hood Meadows in the Mt. Hood National Forest, on the southeastern side of Mt. Hood off Hwy 35. The program spans two days and offers a range of trail distances.
The event includes these race distances:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 28K
- Half Marathon
- 14K
- 8K
- Kids Race .75 mile (1.2 km), not timed
On Saturday several mountain trail courses reach approximately 8,000 feet and include alpine terrain. Sunday features shorter, more scenic trail races and a free Kids Race; children under 6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The 50K is designated as the 2026 USATF 50K Trail National Championship.
Registration fees vary by event and date and youth pricing is available for some distances; the Kids Race is free. The registration fee covers a fully marked course, venue staging, parking, chip timing and results, staffed aid stations, medical support and communications, post race food and beverages, a custom finisher award and official photography. Race shirts and other add ons are not included.
A prize purse for the 50K is distributed to top finishers, with a stated nonbinary eligibility threshold for prize money. The event includes awards ceremonies, a raffle, and on-site post race food and beverage options at Mt. Hood Meadows.
The organizers recognize the traditional lands of the Molalla, Kalapuyan, Chinookan Clackamas, Wasco and Wishram and Northern Paiute peoples and other Sahaptin speakers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
