Wy'east Trailfest

Wy'east Trailfest is a weekend mountain trail running event held at Mt Hood Meadows, Mt Hood, Oregon on August 15 and 16, 2026. The program features multiple trail races that access high alpine terrain on Mt Hood, also known by the native ancestral name Wy'east.

Distances offered include:

  • 50 Miler, point-to-point, 10,650 feet gain, 8,800 feet loss
  • 50K, point-to-point, 6,900 feet gain, 5,900 feet loss
  • 28K, 17.3 miles, single loop, 4,300 feet gain and loss
  • 14K Hill Climb, 8.9 miles, up and down, 2,700 feet gain
  • Half Marathon, 13.1 miles, single loop, 2,400 feet gain and loss
  • 8K, 5.0 miles, single loop, 850 feet gain
  • Kids Race, 0.75 mile point-to-point

Course notes: longer races include volcanic alpine ridgelines, forested sections, wildflower meadows and waterfalls. The 14K is a steep vertical mountain route. The half marathon starts and finishes at Mt Hood Meadows main lodge. The 50K carries a twelve thousand dollar prize purse and serves as the USATF 50K Trail National Championship.

The weekend schedule groups the longer, point-to-point mountain races on the first day and shorter loop and family-friendly races on the second day. Event policies include provisions for nonbinary entrants and cancellation terms. Kids under six must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the Kids Race. Point to point trail half marathon from Husum to White Salmon featuring a 1500' climb on Weldon Wagon Trail, trails lined with wildflowers, and a fully stocked aid station. Proceeds support the Volunteer Firefighters Association of SW Fire..

Trail half marathon and four mile in White Salmon, WA with lollipop loops, hilly terrain, and three aid stations. The event raises funds for the local cross country program and allows day of registration with cash, check or Venmo.

Experience the original adventure run at Mt Hood with a roughly 6 mile course through rugged terrain. Enjoy legendary camping near the start and finish at White River West Sno Park.

A loop race on Strawberry Island in the Columbia River Gorge featuring a 10 km loop over dirt and gravel trails. Multiple distances from 10K up to 100 miles are offered with aid every 6.2 miles and awards within a 30 hour limit.
