Post Canyon Half Marathon

The Post Canyon Half Marathon is a trail half marathon held in Hood River, Oregon, on August 22, 2026. The event is in its twelfth running and uses the Binns Hill Staging Area for start and finish.

The course features about 2,300 ft of elevation gain, multiple mountain views on the Oregon and Washington sides, and small waterfalls at Bridge Creek crossings. There are two official aid stations and additional informal stations for snacks and entertainment. The race is cup-less; all racers must carry a water bottle of at least 24 oz or use a hydration pack. Pets and earbuds are not allowed on course.

Logistics note that number pick-up occurs the morning of the race. Course maps are not released in advance because the route runs on Hood River County Forestry Tree Farm and may change. Registered racers receive an email the Thursday before the event. Registration closes on Wednesday, August 19 at 11:59 PM PT.

Each participant receives a finisher prize bag described as having retail value exceeding the entry fee, and some racers may receive bonus prizes with retail values reported between $10 and $170. The event description also mentions local volunteer presence, costumed spectators, and a puppy petting popsicle station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
