Post Canyon Half Marathon, Hood River OR
The Post Canyon Half Marathon is a trail race held in Hood River, Oregon. The event is the race's 12th edition and is based at the Binns Hill Staging Area for start and finish. The course runs on Hood River County Forestry tree farm land and may change at short notice; organizers do not publish a fixed course map for that reason.
The route has about 2,300 ft of elevation gain, multiple mountain views on both the Oregon and Washington sides, and small waterfalls along Bridge Creek crossings. There are two official aid stations plus additional informal stations for snacks and entertainment. The event is cupless and requires each racer to carry a minimum 24 oz water bottle or use a hydration pack. Pets are not permitted and earbuds are not allowed on the course.
All registered participants receive a finisher prize bag that the organizer states exceeds the entry retail value, and some racers may receive bonus prizes ranging from $10 to $170. Number pick-up occurs on the morning of the event. Registered racers are sent an informational email the Thursday before the race. The listing notes nearby camping approximately 15 minutes away at Kingsley Res and mentions local volunteers and businesses supporting finish-line prizes and refreshments.
