Post Canyon Half Marathon, Hood River OR
The Post Canyon Half Marathon is a trail race held at the Binns Hill Staging Area in Post Canyon near Hood River, Oregon. The event is the twelfth edition and is organized on forest land managed as a Hood River County Forestry tree farm, so course details may change before race day.
The course covers a half marathon distance with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain and multiple mountain views toward Oregon and Washington. Runners cross Bridge Creek and will encounter small waterfalls. There are two official aid stations and additional informal stations for snacks and entertainment.
All racers must carry personal hydration of at least 24 ounces or use a hydration pack, because the event is cupless and does not provide disposable cups. Pets are not allowed on course and earbuds are prohibited. Number pick-up occurs the morning of the event. Registered participants receive an email the Thursday before the race. Entry fees are nonrefundable and there are no rollovers or transfers.
Every participant receives a finisher prize bag described as having a retail value greater than the entry cost; some participants may receive bonus prizes with retail values from $10 to $170. The event includes thematic elements such as friends in costumes, a puppy petting popsicle station, and local volunteers and businesses supporting finishers.
