Klickitat Trail Run - Klickitat, WA
The Klickitat Trail Run is a community fundraising event organized by the Columbia Gorge Running Club with support from the Klickitat School District. It is held at the Klickitat Youth Center, 92 Main Street, Klickitat, WA, and benefits the Klickitat School District and community center. The course follows the Klickitat River and canyon walls, passing through fall foliage and mixed trail surfaces.
Distances
- Half marathon - point-to-point on the Klickitat Trail
- 5K - out-and-back section near Pitt Trailhead
- Youth 12 and under - 5K run/walk (free for ages 12 and younger)
Course notes: the trail is described as medium technical with rocky sections and some smooth fast stretches. The half marathon includes about 500 feet of total incline, marked mile posts, two aid stations near miles 6 and 10, and porta-potties at the start and near mile 10. First-aid responders will be positioned near the 10-mile aid station. Shuttle buses transport participants from the Youth Center to the start locations; participants are advised to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before shuttle departure. Drop bags provided at packet pickup are returned to the community center for post-race retrieval.
Logistics and policies: registration opens May 15, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026; there is no day-of-race registration. The event is volunteer-run, refunds are not offered, and rollovers to the next year may be allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
