Klickitat Trail Run

Klickitat Trail Run - November 7, 2026

The Klickitat Trail Run is organized by the Columbia Gorge Running Club with support from the Klickitat School District. The event is a nonprofit fundraiser benefiting the Klickitat School District and the community center. It is based at the Klickitat Youth Center, 92 Main Street, Klickitat, WA, and follows the scenic Klickitat River with canyon walls and fall colors visible along the trail.

Distances offered:

• Half marathon: point-to-point on the Klickitat Trail, about 500 foot total incline.
• 5K: out-and-back/loop trail with rocky and smooth sections.
• Youth 12 and under: free for 5K participants 12 and younger.

Registration opens May 15, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026; registering before October 10 avoids a fee increase. There is no day-of registration. Members of the Columbia Gorge Running Club may use a member code for discounted pricing. Fee range is listed for registration.

Race packets include a reusable stuff sack/drop bag and a wristband required to receive post-run chili; a vegetarian option is available. Drop bags left at start locations will be returned to the community center for pickup after the event.

Shuttle buses transport participants from the community center to trailhead start locations; participants who miss shuttles are responsible for their own transport. The half marathon course is medium technical with rocky areas, marked mile posts, two aid stations near miles 6 and 10, porta potties at the start and mile 10, and first-aid coverage at the 10-mile aid station. A sweeper follows the final participant. Participants should be able to maintain a 16-minute-per-mile pace; those falling behind may be turned back for safety. The event relies heavily on volunteers. There are no refunds, though rollovers to the next year may be offered in certain circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
