Klickitat Trail Run

Event Details

The Klickitat Trail Run is a non-profit fundraising event benefiting the Klickitat School District and community center. It takes place at the Klickitat Youth Center (Jerry Lynch Community Center) on 92 Main Street in Klickitat, Washington. The event features courses along the scenic Klickitat Trail, following the Klickitat River with canyon views and fall colors.

Course Information

The half marathon is a point-to-point course starting in Lyle, Washington. It has a slow-grade incline of 500 feet over its length and is described as a medium technical trail with rocky areas. The 5K course also uses the Klickitat Trail and has rocky sections as well as smooth, flat surfaces. Both courses are open to runners and walkers.

Aid stations and porta potties are available on the half marathon course. Participants should be able to maintain a 16-minute-per-mile pace. There are cutoff times at specific points on the course for safety.

Registration and Logistics

Registration is handled online and closes on October 31, 2026. There is no day-of-race registration. Packet pickup and event check-in occur at the community center.

Shuttle buses are required to reach the start lines for both distances. Buses depart from the community center at specific times; participants who miss the bus are responsible for their own transportation to the start.

Parking is available at the Youth Center lot, with overflow parking across the street at the Klickitat school.

Post-Run and Extras

Each registration includes a ticket for a post-run bowl of soup (with a vegetarian option). Awards for the top three male and female finishers in each race are presented on the day of the event.
