Klickitat Trail Run

The Klickitat Trail Run is a nonprofit fundraising event organized by the Columbia Gorge Running Club with support from the Klickitat School District. It is held at the Klickitat Youth Center, 92 Main Street, Klickitat, WA, and benefits the Klickitat School District and community center.

Distances offered:

• Half marathon, point to point course from Lyle to the Youth Center
• 5K, out-and-back from Pitt Trailhead to the Youth Center
• Youth 12 and under, 5K run/walk, free for participants 12 and younger

Registration opens May 15, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026. Registration fees increase after October 10. Columbia Gorge Running Club members may use a member code for discounted pricing. There will be no day-of-race registration. Refunds are not available; rollovers to the following year are offered for unexpected circumstances.

Shuttle buses transport participants from the Youth Center to the designated start locations; participants who miss the shuttle must arrange their own transportation. The half marathon follows a medium-technical trail with rocky sections and a gradual total incline of about 500 feet. Two aid stations are located near miles 6 and 10, and portapotties are provided at the start and near mile 10. A sweeper will follow the final participants and a 16-minute-per-mile pace is recommended.

Race packets include a reusable stuff sack/drop bag and a wristband required to receive post-run chili. Volunteers staff many race functions and volunteer positions are managed through the registration page. Awards are planned for the top three male and female finishers aged 13 and over in each race.
