Klickitat Trail Run

The Klickitat Trail Run is a nonprofit fundraising event organized by the Columbia Gorge Running Club with support from the Klickitat School District. The event is based at the Jerry Lynch Community Center, also known as the Youth Center, at 92 Main Street, Klickitat, WA. It raises funds for the Klickitat School District and the community center.

Race distances include:

• Half marathon point to point along the Klickitat Trail
• 5K along the Klickitat Trail
• Youth 5K for participants 12 years old and under

The half marathon follows a marked trail with mile posts, a slow grade incline totaling about 500 feet, and both rocky and faster sections. There are aid stations near miles 6 and 10, porta potties at the start and mile 10, and first aid coverage near the 10 mile station. Shuttle buses transport participants from the Youth Center to the start locations; participants should allow 30 to 45 minutes before bus departure for arrival and check in. Parking is available at the Youth Center with overflow at the Klickitat school across the street.

Registration opens May 15, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026; there is no day of race registration. The 5K is free for children 12 and under. There are no refunds, but rollovers to the following year may be offered. Each registered participant receives a reusable stuff sack drop bag and a wristband required to receive post race chili. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers ages 13 and over. A sweeper follows the final participant and runners should be able to maintain a 16 minute per mile pace.
