Klickitat Trail Run

The Klickitat Trail Run takes place in Klickitat, WA, based at the Klickitat Youth Center, 92 Main Street. The event is a nonprofit fundraiser supporting the Klickitat community center and local K-12 public schools. Distances offered are:

• Half marathon
• 5K
• Youth 12 and under (5K, free)

The event follows the Klickitat Trail along the Klickitat River. The half-marathon is a point-to-point course starting at mile marker 0 near Lyle and finishes at the Youth Center. The 5K starts near the Pitt Trailhead (mile post 10) and also finishes at the Youth Center. The trail is described as medium technical with rocky sections and some smooth flat areas. The half-marathon has about 500 feet of slow-grade incline across the course. Mile markers and aid stations are provided - the half has aid stations near miles 6 and 10, and porta potties are available at the start and near mile 10.

Logistics, registration and services

Registration opens May 1, 2025 and closes October 13, 2025; there is no day-of-race registration and the event has a no-refund policy (rollovers may be offered). Shuttle buses run from the Youth Center to the start locations; participants who miss the shuttle are responsible for their own transportation. Race packets include a reusable stuff sack and sponsor swag. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in both races. Every finisher receives a wooden soup spoon and access to a post-run soup event with donated foods. Volunteers who bring a crockpot receive a $20 gift card.
