Thunder River is a trail race on November 8, 2025, staged from Marine Park in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Two distances are offered:

  • 50K
  • 25K

The 25K is a purely point-to-point course and the 50K is mostly point-to-point. Both courses travel sections of the Pacific Crest Trail and the Gorge 400 trail, pass under the Bridge of the Gods into Cascade Locks, include a trail loop around Thunder Island in the last mile, and finish at Marine Park.

Logistics and services

Registration prices vary by period: the 50K ranges from $140 to $165 and the 25K ranges from $110 to $135. Registration closes November 2. A $10 shuttle bus fee applies for riders from the Marine Park staging area to the start; the shuttle ride is approximately 15 minutes and is optional. There is no shuttle return to the start. Event parking at Marine Park carries a $10 daily fee; additional curbside parking is available on Wa Na Pa St. Exceptionally tall vehicles must use Wa Na Pa St. due to a 12'0" clearance at the Marine Park entrance.

The registration fee includes a fully marked course, chip timing and live results, full service aid stations, professional medical support, radio communications, post race food and beverages, custom finisher awards, and professional photography. Use of boot brushes is required at check-in and start areas. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Trailkeepers of Oregon.
